Festschrift in celebration of Finn Stepputat

This collection of essays serves as a celebratory festschrift for Finn Stepputat, a respected colleague at the Danish Institute for International Studies, who has made significant scholarly contributions to the study of statehood through ethnographic explorations of sovereignty and authority that have had a lasting impact on his peers. It commemorates Finn's long academic engagements as well as his transition from being a senior researcher to becoming an emeritus.

The festschrift takes on a loose format, allowing the 19 contributors to reflect on Finn's scholarly, professional, and personal contributions. Expressions of gratitude are extended Finn as well as to all those who embraced the idea of the festschrift and contributed their thoughts and anecdotes. Ultimately, this volume is dedicated to Finn Stepputat, a remarkable thinker and an indispensable presence in the lives of his colleagues. Despite any retirement plans, Finn's impact is expected to endure for many years to come.
