DIIS and the SDGs

Think tanks will play a key role in the negotiation of the new UN Sustainable Development Goals

Think tanks played a key role in the negotiation of the new UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), just as they will have a crucial role in their implementation and monitoring. They can provide a vital link and mediating role between the civil society, the governments, and the intergovernmental organizations that constitute the main contributors to the SDGs.

In a chapter in the new book ’Think tanks and SDGs: Catalysts for analysis, innovation and implementation’, Lars Engberg-Pedersen, Adam Moe Fejerskov and Mikkel Funder elaborate on DIIS’ approach to the SDGs, from research to policy and commuication. They document the role DIIS has played and continues to play in engaging the public and policymakers on the SDGs and the specific strategies and programs DIIS have developed to do so.
