Greenland-Denmark uranium deal explained

Cindy Vestergaard on the newly agreed declarations on uranium safeguards and export controls

After two years of negotiations, Denmark and Greenland have reached an agreement clarifying authorities and tasks in relation to Greenland’s production and export of uranium.

As a result, Greenland retains control over mining, environment and safety, while Denmark will be responsible for non-proliferation issues.

In this video, Senior Researcher and head of the Governing Uranium project, Cindy Vestergaard, explains the details of the agreement and its two main declarations: one on nuclear safeguards, one on export controls.
