Women fleeing Ukraine is yet the most recent example of women on the move as refugees and migrants. But women move across borders in multiple locations, looking for safety and a better life.

In this launch of the report “Women on the Move; trafficking, sex work and reproductive health among West African migrant women” we present and link new insights from fieldwork among migrant women and refugees en route from and in Nigeria, Tunisia, Italy, Denmark and Ukraine. While the women’s background and context are different, and they are received in opposite ways on arrival in Europe, in this webinar we seek to highlight the interconnections and similarities between women on the move in multiple locations with particular attention to gendered aspects such as trafficking, pregnancy, reproductive health and motherhood. We will discuss how to understand victimhood, agency, risks, and harm reduction and provide ideas on how to intervene and improve the humanitarian assistance for women on the move.
