Research units

DIIS’s research is organised into five units, each with its own focus. Researchers often collaborate across units.
  • Foreign Asylum Seekers Arrive in Makpandu, Western Equatoria State
DIIS conducts research in changes generated by human migration and other forms of mobility. We explore social and societal cohesion, political interventions and human experiences of mobility and immobility at both the global and local level.
  • Global sikkerhed og verdenssyn
The research unit does research into the changes in warfare and the perceptions of transnational threats impacting contemporary international relations. This also involves how local, national and global actors understand security, order and conflict.
  • Bæredygtig udvikling og regeringsførelse
The research unit examines the interaction between global development and governance. This includes what changes are required across social, economic and environmental domains in order to create sustainable development.
  • NATO summit in London, December 4, 2019
The research unit studies the relationship between states and international power from bilateral and multilateral perspectives.
  • Fred og vold
The research unit examines how different types of violence are practiced and affect individuals, groups and states across the globe.
