Watch the livestreaming here
While the concept of ‘resilience’ has made its way into popular culture and mass media, it has only recently become the subject of sustained, scholarly study. This book makes a major contribution to this new field. The book looks at the ways in which resilience has been utilized and weaponized in military life, with decisive consequences for individuals and their families. Situated at the intersection of history of emotions, violence, and trauma, this books makes a major contribution to international studies, military affairs, peace studies, psychology and sociology. It is a timely contribution to contemporary military debates over how to train men and women for war, and how to cope with the traumatic legacy of violence.
