Covid-19 Travel Ban Effects on the Somali Diaspora

“Home is where the heart is. Home is where family is. Home is where familiar sounds, scents are found. The place one craves and yearns for” writes PhD candidate Sara Ahmed Koshin in this blogpost. However, visiting families in different places have become difficult or impossible following Covid-19 travel regulations; likewise, many visiting diaspora Somalis had to interrupt their stays in Somalia to travel their countries of residence, creating local disapproval.
