Ian Christoplos comments on Typhoon Haiyan in the New York Times

In the afternoon of the recent Typhoon Hayian in the Phillipines, the World Bank is supporting a study on the financing of climate related disaster responses. In a recent article on the study in the New York Times, Ian Christoplos points out that there is a tendency for such financing to focusingmainly on reconstructing and enhancing infrastructure. Heemphasizesthe need to ensure that financing finds it's way to broader risk analysis and preparation,which also addresses locallivelihood needs.
