Dealing with crimes against humanity
Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation journal launch
The Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation has just issued Development Dialogue No. 55 which is devoted to the topic of “Dealing with crimes against humanity”.
The journal was also launched at a public seminar at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Studies on March 8, 2011. At an internal seminar at the foundation the following day, Robin May Schott, Senior Researcher (Holocaust and Genocide) discussed some of the ways in which discourses of sexual violence have become contested, now that there is some legal recognition of these crimes.
Her comments developed some of the implications of her article, “War rape, social death, and political evil” that is published in the journal.
