DIIS researcher cited in The New Yorker

In 2010, DIIS researcher Johannes Lang published a critique of the concept of “dehumanization.” The article has ignited a debate about the importance of dehumanization in political mass violence. In the latest issue of The New Yorker, Yale psychologist Paul Bloom cites Lang. “Perpetrators of violence, we’re told, dehumanize their victims. The truth,” Bloom writes, “is worse.”
