War and Terrorism
New article in The Oxford Handbook of Feminist Philosophy
In this exciting new handbook, feminist philosophers engage with topics of oppression, the gendered, racialized, and classed assumptions embedded in philosophical concepts, and feminist perspectives on prominent subfields of philosophy.
Senior Researcher Robin May Schott contributes with an article on “War and Terrorism”, analyzing how violence and oppression are core feminist issues. Her chapter traces how both militaristic masculinities and femininities and a politics of exclusion/inclusion contribute to legitimating war and terror. Looking forward, the chapter notes the importance of feminist anti-militarism and of posing feminist questions to new technologies of war.
