New DIIS Working Paper argues the values we see as core European values originate in USA.
Trine Flockhart argues in a new DIIS Working Paper that the values normally taken to be core European values, which the EU promotes as part of its Europeanization project have entered Europe via the United States during the 20th century. The values that we today see as "naturally" European in fact stand in complete contrast to the ideas that were also seen as "naturally" European a century ago.
