Danish desires to export and outsource camps outside Europe
The Danish Frederiksen-government legislative proposal aims to close Danish authorities' processing of asylum claims on Danish territory. Asylum seekers are instead to be transferred to camp-structures outside Europe, where those granted refugee statuses will also stay.
This new research report takes a critical look on the proposal aiming to export all asylum to camps outside Europe. Ahlam Chemlali, PhD Fellow at Migration and Global order have co-authored a new Centre for Advanced Migration Studies (AMIS) research report, on the 'Danish desires to export asylum to camps outside Europe'.
Together with leading experts on externalization, asylum and migration policy, Ahlam Chemlali, Martin Lemberg-Pedersen, Zachary Whyte and Nik Feith Tan provide high-quality and timely research-based input to the consultation processes behind the legislative proposal.
