After yet another discredited election in Zimbabwe the standard reaction from the international community can likely be to turn its back once again on Zimbabwe. The result will most likely not be democratic flourishing and reforms. Instead, Zimbabwe will strengthen ties with China, Russia, and the Middle East.

Something they've been lacking for most of the post-colonial period. But is the lack of progress during the post-colonial era only a fault of Zimbabwean leaders? Or should Western countries also shoulder some responsibility?
