On July 1, 2020, Germany assumes the Presidency of the European Union. The focus of its Presidency will be on how Europe can overcome the COVID-19 crisis together.

But what is the German view on EU’s global role and the relationship between Europe and the US?  What are Germany’s positions on the security challenges in northern Europe and the Baltic Sea Region? And what are the potentials for developing Danish-German relations further? These are some of the questions the German Minister of Defence will be answering during this webinar on German Defence Policy.

About Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer
Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer was elected Secretary General of the German CDU in February 2018 and Chairwoman in December 2018. She has held the position of Federal Minister of Defence since July 2019.

Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer became involved in politics in 1981, when she joined the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). She subsequently held various political posts at the local level in the Saarlandand and has served as Minister in different portfolios between 2000 and 2018. In addition, Ms Kramp-Karrenbauer was elected Minister President of the Saarland in 2011. She held this office until 2018.
