New Africa oil and gas programme
The Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, University of Oxford, has launched an Africa Oil and Gas programme to be led by DIIS senior researcher Luke Patey.
Diverging from the normative, development, and governance perspectives that dominate the discussion on Africa oil and gas, the new programme seeks to provide an in-depth understanding of the current trends shaping Africa’s energy industry, from a national and regional perspective, and deep-look analysis on the main political, socio-economic, and security risks facing the oil and gas industry in African countries.
It offers a distinctive research platform for industry, government, academia and non-governmental and civil society groups to access high quality independent research on the key developments, opportunities and challenges in Africa oil and gas.
The new programme will further build DIIS’s collaboration with a world leading energy studies institute
