How can we overcome the root causes of piracy?

Horn of Africa, Gulf of Guinea, the Malacca Straits – there are several current and former hotspots of piracy, which threaten maritime security and continue to concern policy-makers.

In conjunction with the publication Pirate Lands by Ursula Daxecker and Brandon Prins (Oxford University Press 2021), DIIS researcher Jessica Larsen participated in a webinar, which discussed the book and the root causes of piracy.
