Geopolitics and constructivism in China

Stefano Guzzini was invited by the School of International Studies of the University of Nottingham in Ningbo, China for a week. On Tuesday, May 15th, he led a PhD Workshop in which students presented their research, before meeting with 4 MA students from Denmark. On Wednesday, he presented a faculty seminar on 'how to publish in IR' before giving a lecture in the Distinguished Speaker Series on 'The return of Geopolitics in Europe'. On Friday and Saturday, he was an invited speaker at an Open and Closed Workshop on Constructivist appeoaches in International Relations, which included as further participants James Der Derian (University of Sydney), Emilian Kavalski (Nottingham University, Ningbo), Gregory Moore (Nottingham University, Ningbo), Xiaohu Pu (University of Nevada), Yaqing Qin (China Foreign Affairs University, Beijing), Vineet Thakur (University of Leiden), Maria Julia Trombetta (Nottingham University, Ningbo), and Colin Wight (University of Sidney). He presented Constructivism and International Political Sociology (for the closed workshop) and on Constructivist methodologies and modes of theorising (for the open workshop).
