Building ties with Eastern and Central Africa

DIIS senior researcher, Luke Patey, has been nominated as a Fellow of the Rift Valley Institute (RVI) an independent,non-profit organization and a leading think-tank in East Africa.

The RVIis currently working inSudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Somaliland, Kenya, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).The aim of the Institute is to advanceuseful knowledge of the region andits diverse communities, bringing a better understandingof local realities to bear on social and political action.The RVI works with institutions in the region to develop and implement long-term programmes that combine action-oriented research with education and public information.

The appointment strengthens the engagements, partnerships and collaborations of DIIS in Eastern and Central Africa.
