Baltic lessons for Ukraine

Latvia provides an answer to the question of European integration that can serve as guidance for Ukraine

On January 1st Latvia has taken over the rotating presidency of the EU council. Aside from operational tasks, the presidency is a good occasion to appreciate the scope of the transition undergone by this former-Soviet republic.

Just as importantly, Latvia’s presidency can provide ideas to address the conundrum the EU is confronted in relation to Ukraine.

After visiting Riga to speak at the Latvian Pre-presidency conference (video available below) Tassinari wrote a commentary for the Huffington Post discerning the lessons that Latvia’s transition might provide to Ukraine.
