PhD candidates
DIIS occasionally offers PhD scholarships. These are as a minimum announced on our website and on www.job-i-staten.dk.
Most of the Danish research councils no longer offer grants for individual PhDs, but there is still limited opportunities available, e.g. with Danida’s research council, the Consultative Research Committee for Development Research (FFU).
Provided that the topic falls centrally within DIIS’s research interests, DIIS offers academic support in the development of PhD proposals for applications to a research council.
Interested potential PhD candidates should present a concept note to the head of the relevant research unit at least 3 months prior to the application deadline of the relevant research council.

Guest researchers
A guest researcher at DIIS is a researcher who wishes to work with researchers at the institute on particular research projects for a limited period of time.
Guest researchers do not receive a salary from DIIS and typically have their own salary from their regular job, a research grant etc. In special cases, DIIS can offer co-funding of transportation or accommodation in connection with the stay at DIIS.
Researchers with interest in becoming a guest researcher at DIIS should contact the head of the relevant research unit at DIIS for a preliminary talk about possibilities and interests.
