About Migration Seminars

Be updated about current migration research at the DIIS Migration seminar series and discuss with Danish and international researchers and policy makers

The Migration Unit at DIIS regularly presents public seminars about current migration research, the so-called Migration seminars. The seminars shall contribute to disseminate and discuss findings about migration with a wide audience, such as students, development organizations, embassies, and NGOs. The seminars consist of presentations by a mix of international and Danish researchers followed by discussion with the audience. Usually, one or two DIIS Briefs are published in connection with the seminar.

New migration in Europe, trafficking, repatriation, migration and development, and migration control have been the topics of previous seminars. Speakers have included Nina Glick Schiller, Peggy Levitt, Adrian Favell, Jørgen Carling, Bridget Anderson, Eva Østergaard-Nielsen, and Marita Eastmond.

Participation in the Migration seminars is free but registration is necessary. They are usually taking place in the afternoon and are mostly conducted in English.
