ECSA-DK works for the promotion of research and education within all aspects of European cooperation and to promote cooperation among ECSA-DK members and other associations with similar objectives. DIIS is a representative on the ECSA-DK board. ECSA-DK supports a PhD network with the objective to set up a professional forum among Danish PhD scholars working on dissertations within European Union studies and European integration. European Policy Institutes Network (EPIN)EPIN is a network of think tanks and research institutions focusing on European political debates, mainly on EU subjects. The network is coordinated by the Brussels-based think tank Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) and comprises some 25 members from 21 European countries. The objective of EPIN is to contribute to debates on the EU's future through up-to-date expert analyses and accessible insight into EU debates in the various member countries.DIIS participates in seminars, the preparation of common working papers, etc. and has also been the organizer of various public EPIN events. Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA) DIIS is the Danish member of TEPSA, an independent association founded in 1974 by European research institutions. It is the objective of TEPSA to deliver high-quality international EU research that can stimulate the debate on the EU's common policy areas and political choices. TEPSA is a driving force in a number of common research programmes. Biannually, TEPSA hosts a 'pre-presidency conference' in the country that is to assume EU presidency next. Think Global – Act European (TGAE)Establishing a stable European Council Presidency requires a close coordination of the three successive presidencies of the Council of Ministers, the so-called “Trio”, whose role in setting up a common 18-month programme is crucial. Notre Europe and the Fondation pour l’innovation politique (Fondapol) have launched a group of European think tanks, with the aim of making recommendations to the Trio. The “Think Global – Act European” project brings together 13 think tanks. It is directed by Elvire Fabry, Director Europe-International, Fondation pour l'innovation politique (elvire.fabry@fondapol.org) and Gaëtane Ricard-Nihoul, Secretary General, Notre Europe (gricard-nihoul@notre-europe.eu). DIIS is the Danish partner to TGAE and the research unit Foreign policy and EU Studies contributes with recommendations to the European Council Presidencies. The latest TGAE report will be published in March 2010. |
