The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark launches Foreign Policy Award
Write a paper on the financial crisis and win 15.000 DKK
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Dr. Per Stig Møller has launched The Foreign Policy Student Award of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. The aim is to engage young students at Danish universities in debate on the issues most crucial to Danish foreign policy, and the award will be given annually to the best paper written on the announced theme.
The theme for this year’s paper is ’The financial crisis and its consequences for the economic world order’. More specifically papers should address one of the following critical issues:
- the effects on the real economy of the financial crisis; - the main reform proposals aiming to ensure a more stable and equitable financial system; - the geopolitical consequences of the financial crisis; - the reforms of the World Bank and IMF. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and DIIS have developed this year’s theme in collaboration, and DIIS will review submissions and nominate three papers for the award. The authors of the three nominated papers will be invited for a discussion session with Dr. Per Stig Møller, and the winner will receive a grant of 15.000 DKK.
Students and PhD’s below 30 at the time of issuance can participate, and papers must be submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, no later than April 1st 2010. More information on the award and this year’s theme can be found on the Ministry's website. |
