Cecilie Banke Fulbright in Holocaust and genocide at Clark University fall 2009

During the fall Senior Researcher Banke will serve as Distinguished Visiting Professor

Senior Researcher Cecilie Felicia Stokholm Banke will be Distinguished Visiting Professor at The Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Clark University in Worcester, Massachusets, www.diis.dk/cfb

Dr. Banke is enrolled at Clark University under the Fulbright Programme as Scholar-in-residence. Dr. Banke will teach two courses during her stay at Clark; one undergraduate course in Modern European history, “War, ethnicity and genocide” and one graduate seminar on Holocaust Memory in post-war Europe.

The DIIS and the Strassler Center has since 2006 had an agreement on exchange of scholars and graduate students. Dr. Banke’s stay will be the first longtermed visit under this agreement, and is made possible because of the Fulbright Commission, Clark University and the generous support from Dr. Howard Kulin and the Kulin Foundation.

The Strassler Family in Holocaust and Genocide Studies is the only program in the US that offers a PhD in Holocaust History and Genocide Studies.
