Bringing the State back in: New roles and responsibilities for the 21st Century StateNeil Webster on the organizing committee of the FAU conference.Neil Webster was on the organizing committee of the FAU conference ‘Bringing the State back in: New roles and responsibilities for the 21st Century State’ held at Copenhagen Business School 12th – 13th May and co-convenor of the conference workshop on ‘States in Transition and Fragility’. Neil Webster also acted as opponent to the plenary presentation by Kevin Dunn entitled ‘There is no such thing as the state: discourse, effect and performativity’ and he presented a short paper entitled ‘Good governance and beyond in ‘fragile states’ in South Asia’ to the workshop. All papers presented at the conference together with opponents’ responses in the case of plenary papers will be made available on FAU’s web-site within the next month or so.
