Ninna Nyberg Sørensen returns to DIISSenior Researcher Ninna Nyberg Sørensen returns to DIIS after a sabbaticalDuring her three and a half years sabbatical, she has worked as Senior Advisor to Danida´s Regional Governance and Human Rights Programme in Central America. In Central America, Ninna´s work has involved advising Danida partners – among others the Central American Ombudsman Institutions, the Interamerican Institute for Human Rights, local chapters of Transparency International, the International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala, and civil society funds supporting access to justice for women and indigenous people. In addition, the Programme has supported research and policy initiatives on migration. Over the years, Ninna Nyberg Sørensen´s research has focused attention on various aspects of the migration-development nexus. At the DIIS Migration Seminar, Monday May 18, 3PM, she gives a talk on how her stay in Central America has changed her understanding, the title of the presentation is “The Central American Migration Drama: The rise and fall of the migrant superhero and the new deportee trash”. |
