Andersen, Lars Erslev, MA, Senior Researcher, Head of the research unit on The Middle East
Lars Erslev Andersen's research focuses on the history of terrorism, al-Qaida, the relationship between rebellion and terrorism, and USA's Middle East politics. He has written books and articles on philosophy, terrorism, and political order as well as on the Middle East. Presently he is writing a book on the intellectual history of terrorism.

An expert on Iran, specializing in the interactions of state and civil society. She has been working on Iran's drug policies, NGOs and youth and is currently focusing on Iran's foreign and security policy, particularly in relation to Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and the Gulf.

Sheikh, Mona Kanwal, PhD, Project Researcher
Mona Kanwal Sheikh's main area of expertise is militant movements in Pakistan, especially the movements related to the Pakistani Taliban. Her research focuses on religious justifications of, and mobilization to, violence. She has also worked more broadly with Islamist ideologies related to Al-Qaeda, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
