Security relations between North Korea and its neighbours have improved

Marianne Hanson from The University of Queensland, Australia, provides a detailed analysis of North Korean nuclear policies since the mid-1990s, and the diplomatic efforts in trying to solve the security dilemmas of the region. She concludes that although the situation is markedly improved, much will depend on the continued use of diplomatic negotiations and confidence building measures.
