Policy BriefsFragile situationsThe policy briefs presented here each discusses a particular issue in relation to fragile situations. Most of the issues are widely debated among aid practitioners and development researchers, and the point is here to analyse them given the specific characteristics of fragile situations. The briefs cover four different areas of concern: (i) governance issues, (ii) particular social groups, (iii) production and trade, and (iv) migration. Each brief identifies a limited number of policy recommendations trying to turn the research insights into possible action. Given the variability of fragile situations, the recommendations are no panacea for results, but constitute hopefully thought provoking suggestions for initiatives that may prove to be useful in particular settings. |
