Eva Østergaard-Nielsen is Visiting Senior Project Researcher 11 June - 10 September 2007 

 
Eva Østergaard-Nielsen will be working with the Migration research unit on policies and perceptions of migration and development, the role of migrants in development of their countries of origin and which policy environment that may favour such engagement. Her other research interests include the politics of migration in both receiving and sending countries and migrant transnational political networks and practices. She is the author/editor of two books and a range of articles in international journals.
 
She will be presenting her work at a public seminar at DIIS after the summer break.
 
Since 2003 Eva Østergaard-Nielsen has worked at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, currently she is Ramon and Cajal Research Fellow at the Department of Political Science. Before coming to Barcelona she has worked at the Department of International Relations at the London School of Economics. She is trained in Anthropology and Political Science and has a PhD (1999) from the University of Oxford /St. Antony’s College.
