A new library has seen the light

DIIS’ library is now open to the public

  • The DIIS Library specializes in the range of subjects and geographical regions covered by the Danish Institute for International Studies. DIIS library is in these disciplines a continuation of the now defunct DCISM Library.

  • Everyone can use the library. Books can be borrowed directly or through your local library.

  • The library is now housed in temporary premises at Strandgade 56 in Christianshavn. It will later in 2013 together with DIIS move to new locations near Nordhavn S-station.

The DIIS Library collections, resources and competences have been built over many years, reflecting the shifting research interests and policy foci within international relations and development studies. This makes the library an important resource at par with the libraries of universities, higher and secondary education and it is indeed indispensable for researchers and the staff of specialized agencies within the civil service, development assistance, defence and security studies. The undergraduate or Ph.D. student should not let these opportunities go by unattended.

Please come visit us. We offer PCs, free Wi-fi, printing/copying, a few study desks and help and guidance from the friendly DIIS librarians. You can access electronic journals, books purchased over the last 10 years and our special Holocaust & Genocide collection. The remainder of our collections is in storage until our final move to Nordhavnen.
