National working groups


At its beginning, the Competing for Water country research teams convened national working groups as a mechanism for anchoring the research in national institutions and for enhancing dissemination of the programme findings. In each country, six to fifteen representatives from relevant government agencies, civil society organisations and relevant Danida representatives have been be invited as members of the national working group to meet regularly to i) be informed on progress and findings of the research programme; ii) facilitate possible synergies with other efforts; and iii) provide input and discussion on the implications of the findings for policy and practice.
