Inequality and development
Power point presentations from the Kapuscinski Lecture
Professor Francois Bourguignon gave the Kapuscinski Lecture at DIIS on April 5, 2011. He spoke on Inequality, Development and Development Aid. A major point was to distinguish between income inequality and inequality of opportunities where the latter may constitute the basis for impoverishment. His power point presentation can be found here.
Professor Giorgia Giovannetti was on the panel discussing Bourguignon’s presentation. She emphasized the need for social protection initiatives. Her power point presentation can be found here.
The Kapuscinski Lectures are a series of lectures financed by EU and organized by UNDP and national research institutions. They are organized in each EU member state.
